Overview
Challenge Airlines MT is recruiting Boeing 767 captains for cargo operations based in Malta. The commander holds overall responsibility for the safe conduct of each flight, the aircraft, crew, and cargo, while working within company manuals and applicable operating rules. Both currently type-rated pilots and experienced heavy-jet commanders without the rating may qualify through separate experience routes. The position therefore suits senior airline pilots prepared for international freight operations, detailed pre-flight decision-making, and accountable leadership across normal, abnormal, and emergency situations.
Responsibilities
- Exercise overall command responsibility for the aircraft, crew, cargo, and safe conduct of each flight.
- Confirm aircraft airworthiness and manage defects in accordance with approved MEL and CDL provisions.
- Complete pre-flight planning, including fuel, performance, weight and balance, and operational documentation.
- Ensure operations comply with applicable laws, regulations, and company manuals.
- Brief the crew for abnormal or emergency conditions and maintain effective command coordination.
- Submit required safety and operational reports after relevant events.
Requirements
- Hold an EASA ATPL, a valid instrument rating, and a valid Class 1 medical certificate.
- Type-rated applicants must have at least 5,000 total hours, including 2,000 PIC hours on medium or heavy jets.
- Type-rated applicants must have at least 500 command hours on the Boeing 767 or another Boeing heavy type.
- Non-type-rated applicants must have at least 6,000 total hours, including 3,000 PIC hours on medium or heavy jets.
