Air Astana

Introduction

Air Astana's on-site screening process usually takes two days. The first day is dedicated to the simulator check and the second is dedicated to the psychotechnical test, the interview and the group exercise.

Day 1 - Simulator session

The goal is to check your ability to navigate, your handling skills, your management of abnormal procedures, and your airmanship.

Learn more about the simulator profile below.

Simulator Profile - Exercise 1

You are positioned on the runway at London Heathrow (EGLL), you are expected to perform a perform a MAXIT 2F departure. The pilot monitoring needs to report overhead MAXIT.

This departure will be performed without AP, without FDs and without A/THR. You will need to hard tune the different frequencies and think about your ND display settings as you will not be able to enter any waypoint in the FMGC's F-PLN.

In case you don't end up overhead MAXIT, the examiners will freeze your position and ask you to tell them where is MAXIT.

Now, let's see what you should expect for the next exercise.
